Nuts are a great snack and nut butter can be an excellent (and tasty!) source of nutrients. Unfortunately, commercial nut butters often contain hydrogenated oils and other processed ingredients.
There are a variety of natural nut butters available at the store which use organic, natural ingredients, but they tend to be pricey in comparison.
The solution? Make your own nut butter! Here’s how to do it:
1) Choose your nut of choice. Peanuts and walnuts work awesome.
2) Blend the nuts in a food processor or high-powered blender until smooth.
3) Taste the butter and add to it as needed – a drizzle of maple syrup and a sprinkle of cinnamon are awesome in walnut butter, and a pinch of salt works nicely with peanut butter.
And that’s it! That’s all there is to it. You get a delicious, all-natural nut butter for about half the price.
