If you read my health blog, you’ll know that I quit my job and that today is my first day as a full-time freelance editor and writer. Hurray!
As I begin this new chapter in my life, I’d like to make some lifestyle changes and create new habits. One of them is eating more nutritious foods; another is to track my food by blogging about it here at Health Writer Eats.
This is what I ate and drank today:
7:40am 1 glass ice water (plain water just isn’t the same. It tastes so much better with ice in it!)
8:40am 1 go-mug of Nabob dark roast espresso coffee (I take mine black. Always black.) and 1 exceptionally large grapefruit. I took an hour to drink my coffee but it took me nearly three hours to finish the grapefruit!
10:30am Another glass of ice water.
12:15pm 1 mug Stash Fusion Green & White tea, a small bowl of baby carrots, and 10 tamari almonds.
1:45pm Leftovers from Saturday (penne, hot Italian sausage, EVOO, red pepper, onion, parmesan – a Mr Science classic!) and a glass of ice water.
2pm 1 tbsp milk chocolate chips and 1 tbsp peanut butter chips, plus another glass of water.
2:30pm Another mug of tea. Drinking ice water tastes better, but it’s problematic since it makes you feel colder. So then tea is required. It’s a whole cycle.
3:30pm Aged cheddar cheese, pate and crackers, homemade dill pickles, and a glass of red wine.
6pm 1 slice homemade whole wheat bread, warm from the Breadmaker, slathered in local butter, and another glass of water.
Total calories: approx. 1,800
Today’s exercise: 20 minutes running, 10 minutes basic barre workout
