A new take on an old classic

I made a green smoothie for the first time with home-dried-and-powdered dark leafy greens! It worked out awesome, except I had no idea just how much extra liquid the fresh leaves of dark greens were providing. This was a super thick smoothie! It was actually so thick that I tried eating it with a spoon, decided I didnt’ like that, and had to take it home to mix it in my VitaMix with some additional water. Had to add close to an extra cup of water before it was drinkable. But it worked!

Today I ate:

  • 1 slice homemade multigrain bread, toasted and topped with homemade all-natural PB and raspberry jam
  • 1 go-mug of black coffee
  • 1/2 litre green smoothie (2 or 2.5 cups water, 1 tbsp powdered greens, 2 apples, 1 lemon, 1.5 tbsp chia seeds, 1 tbsp bee pollen, and a couple capsules calcium powder made up the entire smoothie)
  • A couple glasses red wine
  • Pasta with a homemade sauce of bread crumbs and bacon (re-used the stuffing from yesterday’s squash bites. Mmmm) and another glass of red wine, plus four semi-sweet fair trade chocolate chips

My exercise today included: 20 minutes mat Pilates, as well as 1 hour 45 minutes walking.
