Lately it has been HOT in the Peg. We have our fans blasting 24/7, but it doesn’t give much relief in the condo. (I guess especially when you’re cooking / preserving all the time?).
I tried having oatmeal for breakfast earlier in the week – that was a bit of a mistake! Far too hot to be eating things like oatmeal. Oatmeal suits me better when it’s cold and I need something hearty that sticks to my ribs to get me through the day.
So, this week I’ve been having a refreshing breakfast of a little bowl of plain, non-fat organic yogurt, a spoonful of organic local hemp hearts, and a handful of frozen blueberries. It is delicious! It’s packed with protein, healthy fats, calcium, and antioxidants – and it’s a nice, cool way to start the day.
